Lucknow, 26 December : The inauguration and demonstration of the
Automated External Defibrillation (AED) machine were successfully held today at
the City Montessori School, Gomti Nagar Extension Campus auditorium. On this
occasion, Prof. Aditya Kapoor, Head of the Cardiology Department at SGPGI,
Lucknow, inaugurated the AED machine and provided comprehensive insights into
its purpose, usage, and operation. While demonstrating the AED machine, Dr.
Kapoor emphasized that it is a lifesaving device
for heart attack patients. Cardiac arrest can occur at any time, regardless of
age. In such cases, the AED machine proves highly effective in saving lives.
Dr. Kapoor suggested that installing this machine in schools, offices, malls,
railway stations, airports, and other public places would be extremely
beneficial. On this occasion, Dr Kapoor also explained the correct method of
CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) to CMS students, teachers, and staff
members and demonstrated the correct way to conduct it on a patient.
Earlier, CMS Manager,
Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon warmly welcomed Dr. Aditya Kapoor and the attendees.
On this occasion, Prof. Kingdon highlighted that cardiac
arrest is a harsh reality of our times, and even a minute’s delay in such cases
can be fatal. Considering the necessary measures required in situations of
sudden cardiac arrest, CMS has decided to install AED machines across its
campuses. She stated, “We believe it is essential to raise awareness and
provide accurate information about such life-saving measures, especially to
students and the younger generation, to ensure that lives can be saved in
time.” Senior Principal of CMS Gomti Nagar Extension Campus, Ms. Manjit
Batra, said that CMS has always been highly sensitive to the health and
well-being of its students, teachers, and staff. The installation of AED
machines is a step in this direction. Principal Mrs. Sangeeta Banerjee expressed
her gratitude to the CMS management for installing AED machines in the school
to ensure immediate treatment for students and teachers.
