Grand Opening of the International Sports, Arts, and Music Competition ‘SAM-2024’

Lucknow, December 19 : The five-day International Sports, Arts, and Music Competition (SAM-2024), organized jointly by City Montessori School, Indira Nagar Campus II and Ayodhya Road Campus, was inaugurated with grandeur today at the CMS Kanpur Road auditorium. The Chief Guest, Dr. Ratan Kumar, Dean and Principal, College of Arts and Crafts, Lucknow University, formally inaugurated SAM-2024 by lighting the ceremonial lamp. On this occasion, CMS students presented a vibrant array of educational and cultural programs in honour of the participating students and team leaders of various countries. It is worth mentioning here that SAM-2024 is being organized from 19 to 23 December at the CMS Kanpur Road auditorium, in which student teams from various noted schools of Nepal, Sri Lanka and various states of India are participating.

            Addressing the large gathering at the inaugural ceremony, the Chief Guest Dr. Ratan Kumar said that the world is undergoing a phase of intellectual revolution, globalization is at its peak, and there is a constant exchange of ideas. This is the perfect time to encourage the new generation towards creative development. Undoubtedly, today’s youth are eager to shape a new global society. CMS Manager, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon warmly welcomed the Chief Guest and the dignitaries, students, and teachers present, stating that this international event will not only provide a platform for children to showcase their innate talents but also instill in them a global perspective.

            Earlier, during a press conference held today at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium, participants and team leaders from various countries openly discussed this international event with journalists. Students from Ananda College, Sri Lanka, expressed their enthusiasm to participate in SAM-2024, emphasizing how such events broaden their knowledge. They also noted the unique combination of arts, music, and sports coming together on one platform. Similarly, students from Siddhibaba Academy, Nepal, shared their excitement about participating in the event and making new friends. Participants from various states of India also shared their thoughts and excitement about the competition.

            Ms. Komal Valecha, Principal of CMS Indira Nagar Campus II and Convenor of SAM-2024, highlighted that the event aims to provide an international platform for students' multifaceted talents while fostering unity and harmony. Ms. Nupur Dawra, Principal of CMS Ayodhya Road Campus and convenor of SAM-2024, mentioned that several interesting and knowledge-enhancing competitions will be held over the next four days, both offline and online. She expressed confidence that the SAM International competitions would boost students’ morale and self-confidence.

Lucknow, 10 February : Tiny tots of City Montessori School, Station Road Campus spread the colours of unity in diversity at the Sports Day of their Campus held here today at the Northern Railway Stadium in Charbagh, Lucknow.
